After a week of early voting, a handful of glitches with electronic voting machines have drawn the ire of voters, reassurances from elections supervisors -- and a caution against the careless casting of ballots.
Several South Florida voters say the choices they touched on the electronic screens were not the ones that appeared on the review screen -- the final voting step.

In Mexico, the Ukraine, and pretty much anyplace else where people remember what it's like to live without democracy, this kind of crap sparks riots, mass protests, and general chaos.

Well, not here it won't. Americans took it when the Supreme Court picked the president. Americans also took it when a guy who was CEO of a voting machine company won on his own machines, and didn't care about all the shenanigans in 2004. Nobody's going to care now, either. :(
It's hard not to feel like voting is useless these days. I wanted to vote absentee, but there's no guarantee they'll even count those ballots. I don't think they counted them in Ohio in 2004. I'll vote on a provisional, but that's got the same problem. Sometimes they don't even count provisional ballots.
You'd think in the U.S. of A., we wouldn't have to wonder whether our votes are going to be counted or not.
